Special Project in Illustration: Playing Cards

I wanted to put all of the cards up as a full set now that they are all completed. I plan to work some more on the designs to add more detailed patterns, but this is a good starting point from which I can take the project further.

I finally finished the last two cards for the set. Here they are.

I thought I would post the rough designs that I scanned in order to create the cards in Illustrator. I am just going to post them in the order that they are in on my computer. I still need to draw the King of Diamonds and the Queen of Spades.

Last week, my wife gave birth to our baby girl. Due to some complications with her heart and lungs, our infant has been on oxygen for the last week and a half and may need to remain that way for a month or two. Since I have been dealing with all of this and trying to take care of my wife and other child, I have not made as much progress as I would have liked. I should have all but two cards left to complete the standard 52 card set. Unfortunately, I missed a few days of working on my designs while at the hospital. I still have five cards left to complete, but I wanted to share the designs that are already finished.
